True Blue Annual Fund
Please support American Blues Theater (ABT) and its growing audiences. Last year your attendance, donations, and in-kind contributions helped ABT produce the sold-out hit It’s a Wonderful Life: Live at the Biograph!, the critically-acclaimed Regional premiere of Rantoul and Die, the benefit performance of Tennessee Williams’ one acts American Blues, and two (2) staged-readings of RIPPED: the Living Newspaper Project.
This year we are proud to offer an ambitious and exciting 26th Season: Clifford Odets’ Waiting for Lefty in repertory with RIPPED: the Living Newspaper Project, Chicago’s holiday tradition It’s a Wonderful Life: Live at the Biograph!, the World premiere of Love Me Some Amnesia by two-time Pulitzer Prize nominee James Still, and the staged-reading of our 2011 Blue Ink Playwriting Prize, American Home by Stephanie Walker.
As we move forward, we humbly ask you to continue your philanthropic support of our endeavors. Your donation goes directly toward the art on stage and our community outreach. As of 2011, the ABT Ensemble and Artistic Affiliates have individually received over 100 Joseph Jefferson Awards, Citations, and nominations, 19 After Dark Awards, an Academy Award nomination, Golden Globe Award, Emmy Awards and nominations, Writers’ Guild Awards, 6 Black Theatre Alliance Awards and nominations, and multiple Regional theater awards from NY, Los Angeles, DC, and Florida. ABT is Chicago’s 2nd oldest Equity Ensemble. Our 31-member Ensemble has over 382 combined years of collaboration on stage.
